The website First Round posted a list of 40 Favorite Interview Questions from Some of the Sharpest Folks We Know.

I thought it would be interesting to share my answers to these questions.

It is one of my former bosses [who shall remain nameless to protect the guilty]. She cared about me, my family, and my career. She always asked how my family and I were doing. She would share with me things that were going on with her family. She was genuinely friendly and genuinely cared.

She shared what she was working on and sought my advice. I would also go to her with wild ideas of how we could do things better and differently and she always made time to hear what I had to say. She would give me feedback. If it was a crazy idea she would tell me why. Or she would give me suggestions to make my ideas less wild and more relatable to the company at-large.

She saw a lot of potential in me professionally. She nurtured me in my development with new responsibilities. She supported me in my continuing education. She also helped me grow my sense of self-awareness so that I could better learn about who I was and how others perceived me. I guess you can say she showed me how to be me.
